Families with ASD Wishes Your Family a Happy New Year!

We have so much in store for your family in 2013! 

Families with ASD would like to invite your family to come hang out at the Autism Family Resource Center with others who have been touched by autism. We have so much to offer your family, and the best part is it is FREE!  The autism  center has an sharing library, the information lobby, the little kids play room, the teen room with the Wii, and don't forget the ping pong table, and the Movie Room.  Here is a list of upcoming FREE Autism Friendly Events brought to your family by Families with ASD.  Everyone is invited! RSVP's are not required unless noted. 
 

  • Saturday, January 26th: Family Autism Social & Support : All Ages welcome.  Bring a snack to share & Drop in any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m.
  • Friday, February 1st:  FREE Friday Night Flick: Marvel's The Avengers : Rated PG-13.  Doors open at 6p.m. and movie starts at 7p.m.  FREE popcorn & drinks!
  • Saturday, February 23rd: Family Autism Social & Support : All Ages welcome. Bring a snack to share & Drop in any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m.
  • Monday, March 4th: Happy 8th Anniversary Families with ASD!!
  • Saturday, March 30th: Autism Friendly Easter Egg Hunt. Must RSVP at 513-444-4979.
  • Friday, April 5th: FREE Friday Night Flick:  "HOP" Rated PG.   Doors open at 6p.m. and movie starts at 7p.m. FREE popcorn & drinks!
  • Saturday, April 27th: Family Autism Social & Support : All Ages welcome. Bring a snack to share & Drop in any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m.
  • Saturday, May 4th:  Families with ASD walks the Flying Pig Marathon!
  • Saturday, May 25th: Family Autism Social & Support : All Ages welcome. Bring a snack to share & Drop in any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m.
  • Friday, June 7th:  FREE Friday Night Flick: "Brave" Rated PG. Doors open at 6p.m. and movie starts at 7p.m. FREE popcorn & drinks!
  • Saturday, June 22nd:  Family Autism Social & Support : All Ages welcome. Bring a snack to share & Drop in any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m.
  • Saturday, July 27th:  Family Autism Social & Support : All Ages welcome. Bring a snack to share & Drop in any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m.
  • Friday, August 2nd: FREE Friday Night Flick: To Be Announced.  Doors open at 6p.m. and movie starts at 7p.m. FREE popcorn & drinks!
  • Saturday, August 24th:  Family Autism Social & Support : All Ages welcome. Bring a snack to share & Drop in any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m.
  • Saturday, September 28th: 8th Annual Autism Expo!
  • Friday, October 25th:  9th Annual Halloween Party & Social! All Ages welcome. Dress Up if you Dare!!  Bring a snack to share & Drop in any time between 6p.m. and 9p.m.
  • Friday, November 1st: FREE Friday Night Flick: To Be Announced. Doors open at 6p.m. and movie starts at 7p.m. FREE popcorn & drinks!
  • Saturday, November 23rd: 9th Annual Polar Express Train Ride : RSVP (Tickets must be purchased).
  • Friday, December 6th: FREE Friday Night Flick: To Be Announced. Doors open at 6p.m. and movie starts at 7p.m. FREE popcorn & drinks!
  • Saturday, December 21st: 9th Annual Breakfast with Santa.  RSVP at 513-444-4979.
     
Who is Families with ASD ?
 
  • Founded by Cincinnati couple with child that has Autism,  March 4, 2005
  • 1st local group to offer FREE family Autism Support Group Meetings for the entire family
  • Grassroots 501 c3 non-profit public charity, 2006
  • Creator of the Autism Expo, Autism Yellow Pages©, Adults with Autism Task Force.
  • Opened the 1st Autism Family Resource Center in the Tri-State area, November 2008(5989 Meijer Drive, Suite 9, Milford, OH 45150)
  • Offers FREE information and support to families, educators, and other organizations.
  • Offers FREE family support group meetings, holiday parties, "Out and About with Autism" group outings, and adult socials.
  • Has NO paid staff.  Completely run by volunteers, most of which have a child/adult with autism.
  • Receives no federal/ state funding.  Relies on donations from families and local businesses.
  • Currently serves 500 plus families who live in our community that have been touched by Autism.
  • Serves ages birth through Adulthood.
  • Helps families connect with Autism providers.
  • Help disseminates information on autism to families, schools, and other organizations.

 How can you Help? 
  • Volunteer at the Center
  • Join us at one of our many free events and help us spread awareness and understanding
  • Volunteer to work a Wendy's Burger Bash for the Autism Center
  • Help us get the word out about all the FREE services we offer families.
  • Help us Organize a fundraiser to benefit Families with ASD and the Autism Center.
  • Donate a new toy for our Annual Breakfast with Santa
  • Donate a raffle item or basket for our Autism Expo
  • Make a donation to Families with ASD or ask your business to choose Families with ASD.(see link below)
  • Pick Families with ASD as your Kroger Community Partner (see link below)
