Both offer adults with disabilities the opportunity to earn a paycheck while continuing to development necessary skills needed to gain community employment. The Adult Leisure Program moved to the Wildey Center in September, 2008 and serves as an activity center so that people have the opporutnity to choose alternative activities to regular work environments.
The Community Employment Services Department serves adults who are actively seeking employment within the community. This division of the Clermont DD program will meet with employers/business owners to inquire about open positions within their companies. Once an individual is matched with the job, staff from the Community Employment Services Department assist the individual with mock interviews. If the person is hired, a Job Coach works with the person to do the actual training. This happenes because it might take someone 4-6 weeks to learn the job successfully (depending upon the work skills of the individual) and an employer does not always have staff available to do the training.
Clermont DD also has many enclaves (or mobile work crews) who work as a team within a business or gainzation. Each team consists of 4-5 individuals who are supervised by a staff person from Clermont DD. They complete the job according to what the business owner needs. Currently, we have enclaves that work at the following locations: The Sportsman's Market (Clermont County Airport), Bryan Equipment, the Clermont County Records Management Department, and Country Inn and Suites Hotel. We also have a Lawn Crew who maintain cemeteries and ball fields in the Batavia area during the spring, summer, and fall months.
Retirement is something all senior citizens enjoy, and seniors with developmental disabilities are no exception. The Clermont DD Senior Retirement Program (for people ages 55 and up) is located at the Thomas A. Wildey Center and gives seniors the opportunity to stay busy, remain connected to their friends, and attend community outings each week.

Food plays an intricate role in our lives. It serves to nourish our bodies, sooth our emotions and comfort our souls. We use food to celebrate, mourn and to show we care.
Unfortunately food allergies and intolerances have run rampant over the recent years and many cannot enjoy these simple pleasures. AJ Creations wants to bring this old fashioned simplicity back to the Greater Cincinnati area. Stop in and pick up some tasty treats that everyone can feel good about eating!
We are a dedicated gluten free bakery. The majority of our items are also dairy/ casein free. Our primary sweetener is Agave syrup not sugar. Agave is all natural and doesn’t cause the blood sugar spike that accompanies most baked goods. Agave does have a low glycemic index so it is not considered sugar free. We also bake with the very heart healthy coconut oil. Although many of our items are “healthier”, they can stand side by side with their unhealthy competition in any forum. Come by and give us a try. We think you will be surprised to find out that you can indulge without the guilt.
AJ Creations wants to transport you to a “Simpler Way of Life”.

Sibshops, Views from Our Shoes, Living with a Brother or Sister with Special Needs, Uncommon Fathers, The Sibling Slam Book, and Thicker than Water. And our work and publications have been featured in newspapers (Washington Post, New York Times), magazines (Exceptional Parent, Sesame Street Parent, Reader’s Digest), professional publications (JASH, Journal of Pediatric Psychology, The American Academy of Pediatrics News), and television (ABC News’ 20/20, Nightline & World News Tonight and Brazelton on Parenting) across the United States. We’d welcome an opportunity to present at your agency or your next conference or training event. We’ll show you how parents and providers can decrease siblings’ concerns and increase their opportunities, how to create “sibling friendly” services, and even how to start your own Sibshop.

The first program of its kind for Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, aquatic therapy at Cincinnati Children's Drake combines the benefits of physical therapy and occupational therapy with the advantages of warm-water exercise. Aquatic therapy offers significant benefits in maximizing the potential for recovery as an integrated part of a complete physical therapy or occupational therapy program. Working in the warm-water environment, patients discover freedom of movement that allows them to progress and accomplish much more than they often can in land-based therapy. Warm water lessens the effects of gravity and reduces body weight up to 90 percent, encouraging relaxation and reducing the dangers of overexertion.
Aquatic therapy at Cincinnati Children's Drake is specifically structured to respond to the needs of infants, children and adolescents who require high-intensity or frequent therapy and specialized rehabilitation.

My name is D.J. Svoboda. I was diagnosed with Autism at the age of three. During my school age years I went through some very difficult times. I was often picked on and made fun of. It was from these experiences that The Imagifriends were born. The Imagifriends live in a place called Imagiville. In this imaginary place no one is ever picked on or mistreated in any way. Every- one is loved and accepted for who and what they are. Each Imagifriend that I draw is different. They come in many sizes, colors, and designs. None of them are ever mean or cruel. They each have their own special job and purpose in Imagiville.
I want to use The Imagifriends to help others with Autism know that they are special “Just the Way They Are.” I have designed a coloring book for children and written a book about my experiences with Autism. I also draw Imaginames where I take letters of your name and design an Imagifriend and connect them to make a name. My art was also chosen by The Autism Society of America for their Autism Puzzle Project. I also now have Imagifriend Note Cards and Imagifriend Key Chains. Being Autistic has presented me with many challenges in my life. From those challenges I have learned to never give up. Even those with Autism can make a difference in this world.
I love to travel to different places and events to speak, share my art, and spread my message of acceptance and respect for those with Autism and other disabilities. I make donations to various Autism Organizations and to my wonderful church, Hope Community Church. I want to thank the Lord for giving me the talent to draw. Have a great blessed day everyday.

ARI also disseminates research findings to parents and others worldwide seeking help. The Autism Scholarship Program allows ODE to pay a scholarship to the parents of a qualified child with autism. The scholarship gives parents a choice of sending their child to a special education program, other than the one operated by their child's school district, to receive the services outlined in the child's individualized education program (IEP).The Autism Scholarship Program for 2008-2009 begins July 1, 2008, and continues through June 30, 2009.

Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We are proud of what we've been able to accomplish and look forward to continued successes in the years ahead.
